Top Gear David Hasselhoff keen to replace Jeremy Clarkson after watching motoring show '800 times'

The Top Gear presenting job has been a much talked about role in the world of TV. And now the Knight Rider star David Hasselhoff has thrown his driving gloves into the ring - and he does have a bit of experience when it comes to cars. When asked by RadioTimes.com whether or not he would be up for fronting the motoring show, he said: "Why not?"

And it's not just his experience of being behind the wheel of his beloved talking car KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand) in 80s TV series Knight Rider that could stand him in good stead. The former Baywatch star - who is 16/1 with Paddy Power to be the next Top Gear presenter - also revealed he has watched Top Gear around 800 times - so he must know a thing or two about the show. The Hoff the Record star said: “When I started to work with Dave I watched Top Gear about 800 times. It’s great.”
